Library Loot: August 25, 2012 Edition

badge-4
Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.
New this week from the White Bear Lake Public Library:
index The Next Best Thing – Jennifer Weiner  (audio book)
At twenty-three, Ruth Saunders headed west with her seventy-year-old grandma in tow, hoping to be hired as a television writer. Four years later, she’s hit the jackpot when she gets The Call: the sitcom she wrote, The Next Best Thing, has gotten the green light, and Ruthie’s going to be the show-runner. But her dreams of Hollywood happiness are threatened by demanding actors, number-crunching executives, an unrequited crush on a boss, and her grandmother’s impending nuptials.
Set against the fascinating backdrop of Los Angeles show business culture, with an insider’s ear and eye for writer’s rooms, bad behavior backstage and set politics, Jennifer Weiner’s new novel is a rollicking ride on the Hollywood rollercoaster and a heartfelt story about what it’s like for a young woman to love, and lose, in the land where dreams come true.

** Currently Reading – Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Only one reserve was in today on my visit to the library.  This was a good thing, since I still have a stack on library books and a few advance copies to get read!  I love being surrounded by many options for a good read!
This week Marg from The Adventure of an Interpid Reader is hosting Library Loot. Stop by to check out what treasures others have found at their local libraries!
Happy Reading!

  1. Would you believe that I've never listened to an audio book? I did download Anna Karenina onto my phone but it sucked up too much space, lol.

I've heard such great things about Gone Girl, hope you enjoy!

  2. I love audio books....I listen to them on my 30 minute commute to and from work each day. I usually fine about one a week. Depending on the reader...some are better as audios!

  3. I like to have a nice big stack of books waiting to be read too - even if it means their due date comes around too soon. Enjoy your loot!
